If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if you forced a manual gearbox into reverse at speed (admit it, you have) then this video might answer your question.
The don’t-do-this-at-home stunt was performed in an old US-market Ford Ranger at 40mph (64.4km/h). The result was not as dramatic as we might have imagined, but we do suspect that grippier tyres would have possibly led to more mechanical carnage.
