Man killed in M7/N2 interchange 4 vehicle pile-up crash

A man believed to be a security guard has been killed in a multi-vehicle collision on the M7 under the N2 bridge on Tuesday afternoon.

The man, believed to be in his thirties, was entrapped in a truck that he was travelling in after it crashed into the bridge pillars.

It’s alleged that the driver lost control of the articulated truck while going down a steep on the M7 just before the N2 freeway.

The truck collided with three other vehicles before it crashed into the bridge.

ALS Paramedics Medical Services director Garrith Jamieson said the man was severely entrapped in the truck. Rescue personnel worked hard to free him and once paramedics were able to assess him they found that he had sustained fatal injuries.
