At least three people have been killed in a pile-up accident on the N12 east at Tasbet Park in Emalahleni on Saturday morning.
It is believed that the accident was caused by poor visibility as dense fog blanketed the area.
Multiple vehicles including trucks collided with each other causing some to burst into flames.
Several people were trapped in their vehicles and a few vehicles caught fire.
Rise FM tweeted that at least three people perished in the crash.
It is reported that approximately 12 to 15 vehicles were involved in the accident including trucks.
The accident occurred just after the S-bend before the Greenside bridge.

As at 12h00 the scene was still active and all relevant roleplayers were on the scene. Motorists were urged to avoid the area and use alternatives.
