The driver accused of stealing his company’s truck in Zambia has launched a scathing attack on his boss in response to the allegations by his employer, DH Logistics.

In a voice note sent to SA Trucker, the driver accuses his employer, Dean Holstick, of lying and tarnishing his image on social media.

“This is the face of a driver that steals what is not his and refused to pay back the debt owing to DH Logistics,” DH Logistics posted and added the picture of the driver, his passport, and the truck.

The company added that Mwatse was holding their truck hostage in Zambia and that he had learned that it has been sold.

It asked followers to be on the lookout for the truck and offered an unspecified reward for whereabouts any leads.

The post quickly went viral and attracted comments from Facebook users, some who demanded the other side of the story.

SA Trucker contacted DH Logistics CEO, Mr. Dean Holstick, asking for a comment, and he referred this reporter to his insurance investigator who refused to divulge any information and referred questions back to Holstick.

When approached for the second time, he said the case was being investigated by the police and refused to furnish the case number.

Holstick dismissed as lies the driver’s allegations that the issue was a labor dispute.

The driver alleged that the company owed him his monthly kilometer incentive and other benefits for the past six months.

Going back to DH Logistics Facebook post, the company commented:

“It’s a labor issue. Come state the facts at the labor court, bring all the valid paperwork you have been promising to send all along. Furnishing us with Fake documents and false information. You’re a thief! (stolen company property) and I believe this is not the first time you have done this. Work for 3 months then extort to make up 10 months pay and sit and watch TV from extortion pay. Theft! #criminal And the past criminal record you have that you lied about won’t sit well in the court of law when you need to come appear.”

In his audio, Mwatse states that the company knew where their truck was but vowed that he will not release it until he got money owed to him by the company.
