Man killed in truck vs fortuner crash on N1 north collision outside Polokwane

A man has been killed after his Toyota Fortuner collided with an articulated Volvo truck along the N1 on Thursday morning.

Traffic services are still on the scene of the 2-vehicle collision along the N1 north of Polokwane.

The incident happened near the Landdros Maré and N1 bypass junction at around 11:00 on Thursday (September 23).

Spokesperson for the Department of Transport and Community Safety, Matomi Moremi-Taueatsoala said one man was killed on the scene.

“It is alleged the truck collided into the side of the sedan causing the vehicle to overturn. The driver of the sedan was killed.”

He added that a case of reckless driving will be investigated is under investigation.
