The N2 freeway is closed to traffic between Higginson highway and Edwin Swales drive after a tanker overturned and spilled a highly flammable chemical earlier on Monday morning.
Authorities closed the N2 northbound carriageway until further notice due to fears of an explosion.
At the time of publishing, recovery had just started but had to be halted since a third tow truck was needed to safely complete the recovery.
