Schoemanskloof accident

Two truck drivers were injured, and one person died at the scene in an accident that occurred on October 10 at about 21:00 in the Schoemanskloof area between De Beer’s Nek and Indabush.

According to Martin Jeffrey of Emer-G-Med, upon his arrival at the scene, they discovered that two side tipper trucks had collided, resulting in one of them rolling over.

“During our investigation, we found that one driver was trapped. While we were treating him, a bystander informed us that there was a body visible under the coal and trailer. We retrieved the body, but unfortunately, he had succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead at the scene,” Jeffrey said.

It could not be immediately confirmed whether the deceased was a passenger in one of the trucks or a pedestrian caught up in the accident.

It is still unclear what caused the accident.

The deceased was handed over to the SAPS (South African Police Service).
