Three killed as truck rear-ends stationary truck on the N3 in KZN
Three people have been killed in a rear-end crash involving two trucks on the N3 southbound carriageway just after Nottingham Road in KZN Midlands on Tuesday morning.
The driver and two other people travelling with him, unfortunately, died at the scene.
The Road Traffic Inspectorate spokesperson Zinhle Mali says two trucks crashed on the southbound lane in the early hours of the morning.
“The cause of the accident is unknown at this stage. Three counts of culpable homicide are being investigated.
“We have only one lane open to traffic. We urge motorists to exercise caution in the area. RTI is on scene controlling traffic,” Mali said.

At the time of writing, recovery was complete and both lanes re-opened for traffic.
