Five people were killed when two trucks collided head-on and caught fire near Wynberg on N1 highway in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Both truck drivers and three passengers from one of the trucks lost their lives in the horrific accident.
Pictures of the wreckage of one of the trucks show the extent of the damage caused by the fire.
One person survived the crash with serious injuries.
Circumstances of the accident are being investigated by Wynburg Police.
