Watch: Bakkie rolls after being hit by a taxi in N2 crash near Pongola

Dashcam footage of a crash between a Toyota Quantum minibus taxi and a Corsa bakkie has emerged on social media.

According to the footage, the accident happened at 09h00 this Tuesday morning February 7th 2023 just after Pongola on the N2 towards Piet Retief.

In the 20-second video, shot from a dashcam in the vehicle following behind the minibus taxi, the taxi can be seen swerving to the right trying to avoid knocking the bakkie.

It’s, however, too late to avoid impact. The minibus taxi hits the bakkie which veers out of control leaving the road onto the left hand side of the road and rolls once before landing on its wheels.

The taxi pulls up on the right hand side of the road and manages to stop safely.

As the video continues, some cows can be seen crossing the road on the road ahead.

It looks like the accident was caused by these animals after vehicles braked to give them way.
