A traffic circle at the intersection of Gomery Avenue and Strandfontein Road in Summerstrand, Gqeberha has become notorious for sending cars airborne when they approach at speed.
In videos posted by Port Elizabeth Traffic Updates, two cars were captured flying over the traffic circle after the drivers failed to see the elevated circle.
The videos have gone viral on social media with users debating on whether enough signage was erected to warn motorists or it is mere recklessness of the motorists.
“I stay in Gomery rd that circle is high and not well marked but people drive like hooligans in this road regardless,” says one user claiming to stay on the road.

When SA Trucker checked the Google Street View of the intersection, there were marks on the elevated traffic circle showing it has claimed victims before.
The road signage that can be seen on the map view shows that there are indeed enough signs.
Other social media users blame the victims for not paying attention on the road. Some have even blamed the motorists for using cellphones while driving which distracts them from seeing the road ahead properly.
