Eight people were injured in a collision between a truck, taxi and light motor vehicle on N3 near Alberton.
An ER24 team came across the accident scene around 3 pm on Saturday afternoon and attended to the injured.
Six people were found with minor injuries and two others with moderate to serious injuries.
One person was found with multiple fractures and injuries. A medical helicopter was called to the scene to airlift the patient to a hospital in Johannesburg.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision is not yet known. Local authorities attended the scene and will conduct an investigation.
