A Durban truck driver sadly died after he was thrown out of his truck during a crash on the N2/Umgeni road interchange on Tuesday morning.
The trucker lost control of his vehicle on the Umgeni Road Flyover to the N2 national highway and crashed onto the barrier.
Emergency services arrived on the scene to find a container truck had crashed into the barrier with its trailer overturned.
On further investigation it was ascertained that in the force of the collision, the driver of the vehicle was ejected through the front windshield and over the bridge onto the highway below.
Paramedics found the man to have sustained fatal injuries and he was declared deceased on arrival.
The cause of the collision and the events preceeding it are unknown and will form the subject of a South African Police Services investigation.
