At 08h15 on Monday morning, Netcare 911 Paramedics and other services responded to a collision on the N2 North at the Doonside off ramp. Reports from the scene indicate that the female aged twenty-nine was traveling to Amanzimtoti, her vehicle spun out in the wet weather, and slammed sideways into the concrete bridge.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that she had tragically died on impact, the patient was declared dead by ER ambulance service. Sometime later, we were standing at the scene when her husband arrived.
The man was very traumatized and collapsed at the scene. Netcare 911 paramedics stabilised the patient at the scene before they transported him to a local hospital for the care that he required. Netcare 911 paramedic has attended to several accidents this morning in the wet weather, leaving more than twenty injured and one dead.
Paramedics are appealing to motorists to please slow down, increase your following distance, and keep your headlights on. Beware of areas of the road that is waterlogged, this can cause you to lose control when driving at high speeds. Rather drive slowly and get to your destination than becoming another statistic on our roads.
