Mpumalanga – Five eople have lost their lives in a multi-vehicle collision on the N4 at Schoemans Kloof pass in Mpumalanga earlier on Friday morning.
Emer-G-Med paramedics arrived on the scene just after midday to find absolute carnage.
A light delivery vehicle, a minibus and a heavy duty vehicle had collided head on.
On closer inspection, paramedics found three occupants of the Quantum, adult foreign national tourists, deceased.
An occupant of the LDV also suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead on arrival of paramedics.
The driver of the heavy duty vehicle was found to be entrapped in the wreckage and the Jaws-of-life were needed to cut him free.

Four others were left with injuries ranging from minor to moderate and were treated and stabilized on scene before being taken to various nearby hospitals for further care.
