A gas tanker from Infinite Logistics burst into flames after colliding into a low bridge on Hospital Road in Boksburg on Saturday morning, 24 December 2022.
It is suspected that the gas tanker driver failed to notice the bridge was too low for his vehicle and proceeded to pass. From videos sent to SA Trucker, it can be observed that the horse made it in but the slightly higher gas tanker couldn’t.
It crashed onto the roof of the bridge causing it to compress. Before bursting into flames, it could be heard leaking gas at high pressure.

A source at the scene told SA Trucker that the tanker exploded as firefighters were preparing to extinguish the fire. One firefighter has reportedly been injured and one fire department vehicle is also on fire.
Motorists are urged to avoid the road at all costs as the tanker is still burning.
