Watch: N3 northbound closed at Heidelberg due to fiery truck

The N3 northbound carriageway is closed to traffic between De Hoek toll hate and the Heidelberg Weighbridge following a horrific crash involving two trucks.

It’s alleged that a truck rear-ended another truck and burst into flames.

Videos from the scene show the two trucks well alight.

It could not be immediately established if the drivers were safe.

N3 Toll Route sent out an urgent Traffic Alert on Thursday, 01 December at 11:20 due to the crash.

Reports have been received of a serious truck crash and vehicle/s on fire in a northbound direction on approach to the Heidelberg Traffic Control Centre (weighbridge).

ALL northbound lanes are closed to traffic. Northbound traffic is traveling contra-flow on the southbound carriageway.

Expect traffic congestion and heavy delays in this region. Road users are requested to slow down and approach the area with caution.
