Mariannhill fatal pile-up crash truck driver appears in court

Vuso Tega, the truck driver involved in a fatal crash on the N3 in November last year has disappeared.

Tega, a Zimbabwean national and legally in the country, failed to appear in court after being granted R10 000 bail two days after the crash in November.

He is facing culpable homicide charges following after Priyanka Nunkumar and her fiance Pradhil Thakur Kooblall died in the crash.

The family of Priyanka Nunkumar who lost her life in a crash allegedly caused by a truck driver on the N3 last year is now demanding justice.

Nunkumar’s father, Adhrish Nunkumar, has called for all parties involved, including the driver and his accomplices, to face the consequences of their actions.

Tega did not show up for his hearing, prompting the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court to issue a warrant for his arrest.

The State alleges that Tega negligently caused the collision, resulting in two deaths.

Nunkumar’s family hopes that justice will be served quickly and that all those responsible will be held accountable for their actions.

Priyanka Nunkumar, who would have turned 28 in January, was a community-focused individual who worked for the Minority Front and was pursuing an MBA at the time of her death.
